The second edition of The Natya Ballet Dance Festival 2018 in association with SNA, attempted to go beyond just dance to showcase its various aspects inside and outside the proscenium space and more importantly in the context of film and theatre.
The festival aimed to explore ‘Dance in Film’ & ‘Dance in Theatre’ and showcase works that transcends any one medium. A rich and diverse programme spread over three days was a combination of both local and global art forms. It hosted conversations with legends of Indian dance like Astad Deboo, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Leela Samson and Malika Sarabhai. The festival brought in three bold and assertive evening performances i.e. Mahabharata, Ayush, and Aham Sita.
